Prepare
a four to seven (4-7) minute speech on a special ceremony. Refer to Chapter 10, “Ceremonies,” in Tanka, J. & Baker, L. (2007), Interactions 2: A listening / speaking skills book (5th ed.).
Present
a speech in which you:
- Explain the history
of and reasons for the ceremony.
- Describe all key
roles and / or people involved in the ceremony.
- Describe the objects
that are used in the ceremony and where it takes place.
- Explain the events
of the ceremony in order.
- Apply rules for formal
and informal Standard American English pronunciation, intonation, stress,
and reductions in spoken communication.
- Present orally
within a four to seven (4-7) minute time limit.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
- Be presented orally
within a four to seven (4-7) minute time limit.
- Provide an outline
of major points with events of the ceremony sequenced in order.
- Be typed, double
spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all
sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format.
