Prepare a four to seven (4-7) minute speech on a special ceremony. Refer to Chapter 10, “Ceremonies,” in Tanka, J. & Baker, L. (2007), Interactions 2: A listening / speaking skills book (5th ed.).

Present a speech in which you:

1. Explain the history of and reasons for the ceremony.
2. Describe all key roles and / or people involved in the ceremony.
3. Describe the objects that are used in the ceremony and where it takes place.
4. Explain the events of the ceremony in order.
5. Apply rules for formal and informal Standard American English pronunciation, intonation, stress, and reductions in spoken communication.
6. Present orally within a four to seven (4-7) minute time limit.
